Learn How Healing Touch can Alleviate Stress

Many of us suffer from stress...from family issues, work and/or health issues. Stress can manifest itself in so many ways but the most I hear about from clients are: headaches, back aches, muscle tension, anxiety, insomnia, joint pain, exhaustion and depression. Healing Touch can address these issues. As each person is an individual the treatment plan by the practitioner addresses that client's specific needs. Often I may have a client who thinks they feel, "pretty good," although their mental stress is high or they have a slight back ache, let's say. After the assessment and treatment using energy therapy they get up off the table and say, " I feel so much better," or "I'm so relaxed!" I then teach them self care techniques or give suggestions to help them live a healthier life. I'm not a doctor but have learned through life experiences and energy work some helpful practices. With the health care system in a state of flux it's good to have complementary treatments to help you feel better. Some of my clients go from having a stress level of 10+ to a 0-1 in a Healing Touch session. Without stress good health can be maintained.

Learn How Healing Touch can Support Cancer Patients

When a person has cancer it is so important to keep the chakras balanced and the energy field flowing. Having a compromised chakra or chakras inhibits optimum wellness. That is true of any illness.

Many of the chakras sit on meridians which are the highways of energy. It's vital that these highways be kept open and flowing. Rosalyn Bruyere, an internationally known healer and clairvoyant states that the feet, knees, hips, shoulders and hands are the "feeder system of the body. We live in a force field and our feet and knees are the first two places that energy enters the body."1 The Healing Touch practitioner addresses the chakras in the feet and knees as well as all of the chakras in the energy system. She works to clear, balance and support the energy field as well.

If cancer patients are receiving chemotherapy and radiation there are side effects left in the chakra and energy field systems. The healer works to remove the pollutants and toxins left by these therapies. But Healing Touch doesn't stop there. Healers work on the tumor or the cancerous part of the body energetically as well. Chemo and radiation can lower the vibration of the body so the healer works to "raise the energy level of the whole unit." Care must be given to keep the energy high long enough to produce a new set healthy cells.2 When the energy field and chakras are open and flowing, free of toxins, the person's natural healing systems can regenerate. But it's important also to continue energy treatments once the person is in remission to keep the cells vibrating at a high level. How using self care techniques supports the energy field between session

Self care is so important for people who receive complementary modalities such as Healing Touch and/or Reiki. After a typical session I may teach the client how to do a Self Chakra Connection, Ultrasound, Hands in Motion or Pain Drain. I have found that those clients who actually use the techniques at home between sessions support their energy field much better than those that do not. It's my opinion that the fact that the client is spending between 20-25 minutes quietly focusing on the technique brings the mind, body and spirit together. It's a form of meditation which is so beneficial not only the energy field but the total person. How to prevent Insomnia with Healing Touch

Sometimes, like a lot of people, I suffer from insomnia. Healing Touch can and will help. Although I am not a doctor I have learned through trial and error what works and what doesn't in getting a good night's sleep. Two major things affect one's ability to sleep well: food/drink and activity. In regard to food and beverages caffeine is a major culprit in disturbing one's sleep patterns. If you're a person who cannot sleep try cutting way back on your caffeine intake for 2 weeks. This includes caffeinated coffee, tea and chocolate. If you are drinking 3 cups of coffee or tea a day try cutting back to one cup in the morning. Taking in caffeine after 1:00 pm may impinge on your ability to get a good night's rest. Try the "Great Experiment" as I like to call it for 2 weeks. If you're up for it, keep a journal noting what caffeinated food/drink you've had that day and the quality of your sleep. Try it!

Activities like late night computer work, TV or anything that serves to keep your mind actively engaged in wakefulness will impede your ability to fall asleep. If you want to be asleep by 10:30 to 11:00 PM turn the TV and computer off at 10:00 PM and begin a ritual that will tell your body that it's about to go to sleep: get your jammies on, deep breathe for five minutes, listen to relaxing music and go over the day's events. If something is bothering you write it in a journal and get it OUT of your head. If there is something you need to take action on write that in your journal too. That way you've begun the process of emptying your mind of unwanted details. And you will not forget the next day because you've written them down.

The last and very important reason why a lot of us suffer from insomnia is that the endocrine system with all the glands in the brain including the amagdala, hypothalamus, pituitary and pineal glands work together to relax and produce melatonin, the substance that helps us sleep. Caffeine will affect these glands directly so that is the reason to cut it out of or greatly reduce your intake. The Mind Clearing technique works to relax the Limbic system and allow sleep to happen. So if you have insomnia curb your intake of caffeine, watch your activity level and get some help with Healing Touch!

A client who suffers from high stress was finding that she was having trouble sleeping. That's the last thing she wanted after a full day of work! We began with an update interview, followed it with the energy assessment. Using the Healing Touch techniques to address that client's energy needs, her the quality and length of her night's sleep has greatly improved.

Pets are Showing up in Healing Touch sessions!

During my last three Healing Touch sessions in which I've provided Healing Touch to clients their pets have shown up! Now, I don't mean their physical body, I'm talking about their spirit bodies. Take for instance, yesterday, I had a client on the table and we were well into the session. Suddenly, in mind's eye, I saw 2 dogs: one light brown and larger than the second dog. The other was black and smaller. Both had a lot of energy! The larger put his head on the table as if to ask, "What's going on with Mommy?" Both were very curious and wanted to make sure their mom was OK. So I communicated to them telepathically that Mom was OK, that she just needed to relax and let go of some pain. I then suggested they lay down in the cozy corner by the wall. After a few minutes they settled down. When the session was over I told my client that 2 dogs showed up and described them. She then took out her Evo phone and pulled up some pictures of her dogs and told me about them both. They looked exactly how I had seen them! Now these dogs are young, very much alive and living at her home. I was astonished by the fact that they followed her in their spirit form to make sure she was OK. I'm finding that dogs are either coming with their owner or showing up once the session has begun. Perhaps this has happened before in sessions and I am just now attuned to them showing up.

Another deceased dog, Callie, showed up at another session. I knew this dog well and when I saw her I just teared up. Here she was faithfully keeping her owner company.

I've concluded that whether an animal is alive or deceased life, still goes on for them (and us too!) and they carry on being our companions. Being able to see them in spirit form seems like a step forward in my own development and journey as a Healing Touch Practitioner. And I am very excited about it!

Healing Touch and Gardening

Yesterday I was scheduled to work at the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). I arrived at 9:00 a.m. for my time there. It was sunny and about 75 out. I dressed in long brown pants, a long sleeved shirt, pink work gloves and a straw hat. I had my water bottle too. I wanted to do some light work but as fate would have it I was assigned pulling "pig" weeds. I didn't know weeds had categories such as "pig." That thought I kept to myself. Anyways, I began pulling them out around the field tomato plants and in the beginning they weren't hard at all. Someone else had apparently weeded them before. But as I rounded the row I saw these monstrous pig weeds way down the line. "Oh no" I thought. I was already hot and sweaty and had just been working for about 15 minutes. "I can do this!" I thought. But pulling those weeds took all of my energy. I think it would have been great for 2 strong and well oiled muscle men....one to pull and the other to catch the first man as he fell backward yanking the weed out by it's roots! Sooooo I pulled down the line and got to this clump of weeds that had stems the size of corn stalks! So I yanked and I yanked and I yanked until half the stalk ripped off. "Well, I thought, at lease they won't be tall but they will come back stronger most likely. I figured that wasn't my problem. I was done with these babies.

I get home and I am already feeling the pain. My knee began to throb and my right hand hurt as well. I iced my knee and hand but also used a Healing Touch technique called, "ultrasound" in order to break up the congestion in my energy field that I knew had formed from the exertion and stress of weed pulling. I think it worked. This morning my neither leg or hand hurt. If I turn my hand in a certain position I get a twinge but nothing like yesterday. Those weeds didn't conquer me. I won the battle!

How Healing Touch can decrease Pain caused by Trauma

I've just begun to work with a gentlemen that has experienced a serious trauma by being hit by a drunk driver. "Tom" has several broken bones, a bruised spinal cord, had a blood clot, a deep bed sore and a lot of PAIN. In talking with his wife before the Healing Touch session she told me that Tom is on several prescriptions one of which is for pain. He had been on morphine but is being weaned off slowly. Even with the meds Tom sleep patterns have been erratic at best. Sleep is so very important because without it muscles tense up which constricts circulation. When circulation is constricted enzymes and vital nutrients cannot be transported to the cells of the body. Without these enzymes and nutrients healing cannot occur. Sleep is important!

I had been accompanied by a fellow healer. When we arrived at the rehab facility Tom was lying in bed. He had had a pain pill so as he ate I explained what Healing Touch encompassed. He was willing to try it. As he relaxed my friend and I assessed his energy field and chakras. The field was not centered from head to toe, side to side nor from top to bottom.
Noting this we then began our work waiting to assess the chakras until after the field was back on his body. When we completed the Chakra Connection I checked the field and it was back and centered on Tom's body. The energy field is significant for one's health and vitality. It's can be compared to the earth's gravity field. Without gravity (and other factors, of course) life as we know it may not exist. After the Chakra Connection the major energy centers (chakras) were flowing. We then addressed his pain in various parts of his body. During this time Tom drifted in and out of consciousness. We provided him with another technique called the "Chakra Spread" which helps for major transitions and traumas. When we finished the hour long session Tom thanked us for visiting him.

After the session my friend, Tom's wife and I talked about the techniques we used and showed her how she could do some of the during the week. She was so grateful that we had come and asked us back the next week. About 2 days after our visit I called her and asked how Tom was doing. She told me that Tom had a full night sleep and woke up in good spirits! I was grateful for her gratitude but also because Tom had shown signs of improvement. Trauma can be a long journey full of ups and downs but I believe Healing Touch can support that journey. Healing Touch works over time so hopefully we'll be able to return and keep the momentum going.
