Healing Touch and Cuts

As I was exercising today on a stationary bike I noticed that I cut my right ring finger. I don't remember how it happened! It was bleeding profusely and as I looked at it further I saw that there was a tear in the skin. I stopped riding and got a band aide from one of the professionals on the fitness floor. I wrapped my finger with the idea that the pressure of the band aide may stop the bleeding. I cleaned off the bike I had been using with disinfectant and decided to go use an elliptical machine. I had used it many times before and was confident that I wouldn't get injured using it. I had gotten cut on this bike a couple of weeks ago and didn't want to take another chance.

As I restarted my workout on the ellipical machine I noticed that even with the band aide on the tear was still bleeding.

"I'll have to change this bandage but not now, I want to workout," I thought to myself.

So I began using techniques I had learned in one of my Healing Touch classes called, "lasering and "hands in motion." With my left thumb, index and third fingers together I imagined a laser light coming from the jointure of the three fingers. I rotated this light over the cut in a random motion. This action was to break up the congestion that had formed in the energy field around the cut. I then used my left hand to move the congestion away from the finger with a cupping motion. I repeated this two more times. Then I just wrapped my left hand around my finger sending healing energy. I held it for about 3 minutes. I noticed that the bleeding had stopped so I continued on with my aerobic exercise. When 30 minutes were up, I washed my hands in the restroom. Even though the cut was still open it was no longer bleeding nor was it painful. I wrapped a new band aide around it and went on to my strength training regime.

As I'm looking at my cut now several hours later, the bleeding has stopped completely and there's not one bit of discomfort. I
am amazed at this because a few weeks ago I had cut my finger in the same way. (That bike is a menace to be dealt with!) It bled off and on every time I bumped it against something. That caused pain and a burning sensation which was very uncomfortable. I'm not saying my cut is completely healed but it's well on it's way and it is not bothering me. Although it's not a major health issue ~ one more annoying than anything else it still is worthy of my attention and help.

Healing Touch and Animals

Back in September I participated in the Level 1 Healing Touch for Animals weekend workshop. I brought my dog with me the first day because the needed, "subjects." I was only too happy to bring Dakota because he's intelligent, friendly and loves people. When I arrived there were three other dogs present and they were all BIG! I felt a little intimidated when the dogs came around me and judging by Dakota's behavior he was too. But when the speaker began talking the dogs settled down. What I learned was so very interesting to me. Animals have energy fields around them just like we do! Horses have energy fields as big as the property on which they live. They are very sensitive indeed. Cats also have a very large energy field and are very protective of their homes. Many dogs, on the other hand, have energy fields centered around their bodies much like their humans.

I learned that it is very important to approach an animal cautiously and ask quietly if it's OK to come near. You can tell by their body language if it's OK. If the animal is snarls or backs away then it is not OK.

Healing Touch in the hospital

I volunteered at the hospital yesterday. Sometimes I force myself to go because of any number of reasons. But being received so wonderfully by a patient there just made my day. I had met a woman in the Endoscopy department last week while she was waiting for a procedure. Her doctor was behind schedule and she was a bit nervous. I asked if she wanted to receive Healing Touch and after I explained what it was, she gratefully accepted. When I had completed several techniques such as the Magnetic Clearing and Chakra Connection, she began to tell me about her life, her family and friends. It was wonderful making that connection with her. She had experienced many events in her life: challenging and joyful. It was great to be there to listen and affirm her feelings. I let go of my agenda and just listened as it seemed to be what she needed. We had made a connection and that is one of the best things that can happen. It's a privilege to hear a slice of life as another person tells it and to know you are helping her process emotions. Before I left her I asked if she'd like Healing Touch after her surgery which was on January 20th. She said that she would.

I called her before I went over to the hospital as I wanted to be certain that she remembered me and still desired Healing Touch. She seemed hesitant to ask me to come over but I assured her that I had the time. When I arrived she was sitting up in her chair and had just finished lunch. The floor was very quiet. We chatted for awhile and then I assessed her energy field. She and I talked about her symptoms after surgery. I taylored my approach to those symptoms using Healing Touch techniques learned over the years. When I was done she looked up at me and said, "This is sacred work."
