Healing Touch and Polio

A few years ago I met another Healing Touch student who had polio as a teenager. At the time I practiced Healing Touch with her she was in her late 50's at least. She mentioned that she still had some residual effects of polio and she found that if she gave herself daily self care with Healing Touch, specifically, the Chakra Connection, that she could walk without problems for the day. She faithfully did this ritual every morning. Remembering our conversations, I decided to give myself the time every morning to tune up with the Chakra Connection. It's an easy technique where you place the palms of your hands on all the joints of the body. You begin at the "palm" of the foot and work your way up one leg, the other, hips, the first 4 centers in the center of the body, arms, shoulders and then the last 3 center chakras. The idea is to get the energy flowing to all of the muscles, bones etc between these joints and chakras. I know it works because with the sports injury to my knee hurting for whatever reason, I give myself the Chakra Connection and the pain disipates. It's great!

Healing Touch and Anger

I had a unique experience last week. I was at the Hospice in- patient-unit and was providing Healing Touch to patients there. I was going around with another practitioner when we noticed a patient in his room with his blanket over his head. I wasn't quite sure what was wrong, if anything, so I asked one of the nurses. She told me that he was "angry." Sometimes I run into patients who are angry at the fact that they may be dying or in pain. We weren't sure why "Mr. Doe" was angry but we thought that Healing Touch might help. The nurses went in the room and asked the patient if he would like to try some "Healing Touch." He popped his head out from under the blanket and said, "Oh, I guess that'd be alright." We told him to just relax and began our assessment. There was an area of intense congestion in the energy field over the sacral and solar plexus chakras. The other practitioner and I felt it with our hands. The energy felt like a dense area of tingling and prickliness. When we gave him the Chakra Connection we held our hands high over these areas until the tingling began to dissipate. It didn't totally release. But we moved on to other chakras thinking that the energy would even out. That's what it did. We continued on with the Connection and began Magnetic Clearing. His energy field felt more clear when we completed our passes.

Of special note is that the sacral chakra is the chakra of the emotions. I wasn't surprised that Mr. Doe was feeling intense anger because when congestion occurs in the sacral chakra the energy doesn't flow and emotions can get pent up. Hopefully he felt a sense of relief when we our session was done. Mr. Doe had severe hearing loss so to have a conversation with him was difficult. He may have had some dementia as well. Perhaps next time we see him he'll be feeling better. However, with this intense emotional block it may take several sessions of Healing Touch to release it and reenergize it.
