A couple of weeks ago I attended a Roller Girls derby. I was gung ho for the home team and that means I usually scream most
of the game. Screaming has it's consequences, however. Later that night I noticed that the right side of my throat was beginning to feel sore and it was extending up into my right ear. Ugh! I didn't want to have a sore throat after I had so much fun. Soooo I began to do a Healing Touch technique in the car on the way home called: "ultrasound" on the right side of my throat. I followed up with "Hands in Motion" sweep away the congested energy. I did this over and over while in the car. Once I got home I did the techniques together again. In addition I used an essential oil called, "Theives." A friend has been studying aromatherapy and suggested that when I feel a cold or sore throat forming, I should put a drop of the oil in the palm of my hand. Then with the index finger of the other hand I was to take a little of this oil and put in on my tongue. It doesn't taste bad at all, just different from anything I'm familiar with. The oil will mix with the saliva and get into the system that way. You are to wait a minute then take a bit more oil on the index finger and again place it on the tongue. Wait another minute. Do this treatment another eight times. Eventually you will need to swallow and that is OK. After the Theives oil treatment I did more Ultrasound and Hands in Motion. I wasn't sure what would happen.
I woke up the next morning without a sore throat or any kind of pain in my ear! I was as surprised as anyone! It was great knowing that there are holistic treatments that a person can use before tramping out to their doctor. I've used the Theives oil
several more times when I've felt colds coming on and in each case they didn't form. I've got my Theives oil in a safe place and will take it when traveling. These two modalities: Healing Touch and Aromatherapy work extremely well together!
