A Healing Touch Story

I've been a member of a healing ministry for about 7 years now. In that time I have taken Levels 1, 2, 3 & 4 of Healing Touch with certified healing touch instructors. During the last 7 years I've provided healing touch for parishioners, their friends & family members as well as hospice patients referred to me by Hospice of Cincinnati (Blue Ash unit). I've also provided healing touch to my family as well. I view healing touch as nothing less than an amazing gift from God and in this blog I plan to write stories of my experiences with it.

The first story I'd like to share happened earlier this year in January ('07). My aunt had died & I knew I wanted to attend the funeral in NJ. That would entail flying there, possibly renting a car which I had done many times before. I wanted to be there to celebrate her life so I made all the arrangements for traveling. My mother who is 91 years of age wanted to attend the funeral as well. She & her sister had lived together for over 10 years after my father had passed away. I must mention thamy mother at 91 has many chronic health challenges. She has macular degeneration, hardness of hearing, arthritis, congestive heart failure and a compression fracture in her right hip. It is her hip that was giving her the most pain last January and for which she was taking many pain killers. "How would she navigate the steps of the church not to mention the service itself with her hip pain?" I asked myself. She could hardly walk from the couch to the kitchen!

When I arrived at my brother's home where my mother was staying temporarily, she was on the couch resting. I asked how she was and her typical response was, "oh, you know, not good." I asked where her pain was & she indicated her right hip toward her back. On a scale from 0 to 10 with 10 being the worst pain she told me her pain was about a 7 or 8. "Would you like healing touch?" I asked? She had always been open to it before & eagerly said that she would. I had her lie on the couch again. I grounded myself, connected with the energy of the Divine & asked for guidance in this healing session for her highest good. I then assessed her energy field. . .first by a hand scan & then using a pendulum. It was slightly off her body to the side. I checked her chakras again first by hand and then with the pendulum. I found them to be open but the clockwise swing of the pendulum was not wide indicating the energy was flowing but not as well as it could be. I also checked certified healing touch practitioner/instructor called her 11th (earth star) and 12th chakra (earth gate) below her feet. The earth star was closed and I prayed that it open. I then provided the chakra connection, magnetic clearing and pain drain. When I finished, she opened her eyes, sat up unassisted and said, "What did you do?' She had this glow about her too. I explained as best I could the assessment & healing touch techniques I used. "Why, Mom?" I asked. "Because I have no pain, no pain." She said this and got up off that couch and walked around the room! I was delighted and gave thanks to God for this healing. She was able to attend her sisters funeral the next day, walk up the steps of the church and down the aisle to her seat by herself. She had a cane but really wasn't using it. The next day she had some knee pain and through using the pain drain once again the pain was gone. I think this is a witness to the incredible power of God's healing energy through healing touch. The pain has returned but each time healing touch is provided she gets several hours of relief.
